Central Queensland Area Consultative Committee transition to
'REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AUSTRALIA CENTRAL QUEENSLAND’
The National network of Area Consultative Committees (ACCs) has been a critical link between the Australian Government and regional, rural and metropolitan Australia.
The ACC Network was first established and supported by the previous Labour Government in 1994 and that same level of support and commitment to regional and rural Australia will continue to be maintained by the current Rudd Labour Government. The newly proposed Regional Development Australia (RDA) framework will build on the success of its predecessor (ACCs), but will take on a broader role to develop strategic input into national programs designed to improve the coordination of regional development initiatives and ensure that there is effective engagement with local communities. The Regional Development Australia Committees (RDACs) will become the eyes and ears of this government in regional Australia.
